After ComicCon Day 1

Today was the first day of the convention. I am officially exhausted.

Yesterday was nice. We met up with my friend for dinner and met his roommate. We talked for about an hour and a half before returning to the hotel to chill and watch TV.

Today we woke early and I went for a swim so I wasn't overly hurting today. The pool here is small but nice and clean. It's made of steel. I swam for about half an hour before my head started to hurt from not eating.

Got dressed and decided to explore the city. So, we walked around and made our way to the sports arena where the Columbus hockey team plays. We couldn't snoop around the arena because of practice but we did check out the team shop, which was fun. Joe was in hockey heaven.

On the way back, we explored the North Market and went to this new restaurant called Double Comfort for lunch. It was really good but spicy food.

By then, it was close to time to get in line across the street. We waited for an hour and it was time to get in! We wandered around the huge vendor area. So many incredible artists. I even talked with several authors, either novels or graphic novels and comics. I'm all for supporting other indie writers so it was great to talk to them. I told my friend who is a really talented artist, and working on her own comic, maybe we can tour conventions together promoting our work.

Back at the hotel, I went for another swim and packed up mostly. Letting my suit and towel dry overnight. Just have to load the car tomorrow morning, enjoy day 2, get some autographs, attend a couple panels, and head home.

Phone is about to die on me and I still have to write down the panels for tomorrow so I can figure out how I'm fitting in autographs.

Despite being exhausted, I had so much fun. Joe is such a funny fan boy. He got 3 autographs from one of his favorite actors and had a big grin on his face when he was done.

Excited for tomorrow. Let you know how it goes on the way home.

On Our Way!! ComicCon 2014

So, here we go. It's about 2:45 right now as I write this. We've been traveling since 1:00. Even stopped for lunch. (I wasn't hungry. Just got a coffee. Boy was, though) But, it's finally happening! We are getting ever closer to Columbus and our fun weekend together. When we get checked in, we're going to relax for a couple hours before meeting a friend for dinner at a brewery. I brought a movie with me so we can watch it while we relax. And it's appropriate for Halloween, too. Dracula, Dead and Loving It. More funny than scary but an awesome movie nonetheless.

It's a dreary day. Cold, cloudy, not many leaves on the trees anymore. Otherwise, it would be a much more scenic drive. Even the animals on the farms we pass don't want to come out today. I had to pull out my nice winter coat for the trip, too! Typical Ohio. I really hate it sometimes.

But, despite the weather and the very long drive, I'm happy. I'm with my guy. We're going to have a fun weekend of geeking out and being together. This is just the first of many trips we'll take together. Starting with a weekend 2 hours from home. Then, one day, traveling across the country.

More later!

10 Days Until ComicCon 2014!

I can't believe it. Just about a week and a half to ComicCon! Eee! So excited about this, you don't even know.

I've started gathering things I'll need for the trip. Washing my towels, bought make up remover so I don't break out like a 12 year old. Have clothes set aside that I want to wear. Still some time to convince Boy to cosplay with me for Halloween. Need to make some modifications to the costume. But, I can do it. And I need to find my bow tie.

Gotta go! Mother/daughter day today.

23 Days Until ComicCon 2014!

Okay! Hotel booked. Tickets purchased. Route plotted and travel time scheduled to take any construction into consideration on our journey. All that's left is to save money and pack!

Columbus, here we come! Just over three weeks to go! Boy and I are getting more and more excited by the day. Our first vacation! Three days away from work! Getting to meet famous people and be a fangirl/boy without eye rolls from family and friends. What's not to love!
