Honeymoon Travel Plans

Hey everyone,
I know I've been neglecting this blog. But, you have to travel in order to keep up with a travel blog, right? Well, in about 3 months, I'll be taking one of the most exciting trips of my life. I'm getting married! August 19 is my wedding day and the next day we're leaving for Toronto, Canada!

I'm planning on doing a video on my other YouTube channel. Just bought a new camcorder. Need to get some large memory cards to keep all the footage and pictures. I'll post more about it as time gets closer.

Talk to you soon!

Arrival in Columbus ComicCon 2015

12:50 a.m.

Currently am unable to sleep so I figured I would catch you all up on the events of the day.

This morning, Joe and I went to the store and picked up some snacks and drinks for the room. In the afternoon, around 4 or so, Robin and Josh came to get us and we made the trek to Columbus. Our hotel is super nice. On the 6th floor with a great view of the city and the Ohio State University!

We settled in and went back out for dinner and karaoke! We found a place a few minutes away but it was nice and we had a blast. They had a mechanical bull that Josh rode. I took video of it for my YouTube vlog. I'd start putting it together now but everyone is sleeping so can't. Maybe in the morning. I have to clear my memory card anyway so if we have a chance after the convention maybe I'll start on it.

The karaoke bar was this little place attached to the restaurant called Wanna B's. When we went in, we didn't think there would be a crowd but there was. Robin and I rocked out to a Garth Brooks tune and then each did a solo. But it took so long to get to our solos that we wore out our voices singing along with other people. I know I squeaked and cracked when I sang. Veronica did pretty well. I could tell she was tired, though. And poor Joe was falling asleep in the bar.

Now we're back and I'm trying to fall asleep. I'm dealing with sinus allergies right now and might take one of Joe's allergy medicine. He has some over the counter stuff and won't miss one or two.

I'll write more tomorrow... or technically later today.

Byee!

3 days to go! ComicCon 2015

Woo! Final few days until we leave! I am so excited. Just have a few minor things to pack up Wednesday night after work. Have to finalize travel details with Robin as well. Then, we're off!
I've been trying to walk more so I am not as sore walking around all day but going swimming before and after will help. And I have to watch my salt... after today. I already goofed with salty noodles for dinner. But for the rest of the week I have to behave.

10 Days Before Columbus ComicCon 2015!

Less than 2 weeks to go and I am busy busy! Doesn't help that it was Labor Day weekend so my day job was insane all weekend long.

I had to start a second Pandora station that reflects my eclectic taste in music because I refuse to pay for it right now and I run out of skips. My plan is to have some way to play the app so we can all hear it while driving. Whether that is plugging it into my boyfriend's car radio or going out and buying a cheap little speaker. And then we can have a nice selection of music to listen to because we will be driving A LOT next Thursday.

Tentative plan so far but my boyfriend has to go to the doctor in the morning. Then, we're going munchies shopping before hitting the road. Then, heading west to get my friend, Robin, in Sandusky before heading south to Columbus. We're going to check in and explore for a bit and then Friday and Saturday are convention days! I'd love to scope out a book store or a cute little boutique. I like looking for things like that when I travel.

I'm going to try and watch my spending this year. I am going to get my autograph and a photo this year and I'm going to focus on books and comics/graphic novels. I got too much little stupid nick nacky stuff last year that I never use. At least I'll (eventually) read the books. I'd love some artwork, too. Last year my boyfriend got me this beautiful Sailor Moon drawing. I currently have no place to display it but it's in a frame for when space appears.

I'm going to keep an eye out for this particular jewelry vendor. Sparkle, from Georgia, is fantastic. (I linked their Facebook page) I bought this "I Write" necklace from them last year and I love it. I wear it almost every day. I'd love to get more things from them this year if they come back.

I'm really happy my best friend can come along this year. We don't get to spend much time together. She lives an hour away. And, that's better than when she lived 7 hours away in Virginia but it still requires some planning for hanging out. Earlier this year we had been talking about doing a girls road trip but that fell through. So, this is about as close as we're getting right now.

I will do a better job blogging and vlogging this year. I'm going to load up on batteries. Not sure if I'll be able to blog while driving if the radio app is on but I'll try. I did learn the other day that my camera stops after an hour of nonstop filming.

Have to get some sleep. Planning on getting up early to print out what I have of my novel before work tomorrow. I want a hard copy to refer to for details and then I can finish it finally!

Will post again when it gets closer to the big day. Getting excited!

21 Days to ComicCon 2015!

It's that time of year again. Time to prepare for Columbus ComicCon! And this time we've got a trio. It's me, my boyfriend, and my best friend, Robin! I'm so excited she's going along. It's going to be awesome! And I might even dress up this year.

I'm pulling out my Halloween costume from a few years ago and tweaking it. I was the 11th Doctor. I want to take a more fun, fem twist this time. Instead of pants, a black maxi skirt. I'll do my hair and makeup all cute. And it's goingto be fun. I think Robin is going to be a Shield agent. Have to be sure to pack plenty of makeup and I need a new Sonic Screwdriver because mine broke.

Next week I am going to get a new vlogging camera! I've been saving for weeks! Found one on Amazon that's really nice. I need a new memory card as well so I can capture everything. Bouncing between video and photo is going to be a challenge but I'm up for it.

More soon as it gets closer.

After ComicCon Day 1

Today was the first day of the convention. I am officially exhausted.

Yesterday was nice. We met up with my friend for dinner and met his roommate. We talked for about an hour and a half before returning to the hotel to chill and watch TV.

Today we woke early and I went for a swim so I wasn't overly hurting today. The pool here is small but nice and clean. It's made of steel. I swam for about half an hour before my head started to hurt from not eating.

Got dressed and decided to explore the city. So, we walked around and made our way to the sports arena where the Columbus hockey team plays. We couldn't snoop around the arena because of practice but we did check out the team shop, which was fun. Joe was in hockey heaven.

On the way back, we explored the North Market and went to this new restaurant called Double Comfort for lunch. It was really good but spicy food.

By then, it was close to time to get in line across the street. We waited for an hour and it was time to get in! We wandered around the huge vendor area. So many incredible artists. I even talked with several authors, either novels or graphic novels and comics. I'm all for supporting other indie writers so it was great to talk to them. I told my friend who is a really talented artist, and working on her own comic, maybe we can tour conventions together promoting our work.

Back at the hotel, I went for another swim and packed up mostly. Letting my suit and towel dry overnight. Just have to load the car tomorrow morning, enjoy day 2, get some autographs, attend a couple panels, and head home.

Phone is about to die on me and I still have to write down the panels for tomorrow so I can figure out how I'm fitting in autographs.

Despite being exhausted, I had so much fun. Joe is such a funny fan boy. He got 3 autographs from one of his favorite actors and had a big grin on his face when he was done.

Excited for tomorrow. Let you know how it goes on the way home.

On Our Way!! ComicCon 2014

So, here we go. It's about 2:45 right now as I write this. We've been traveling since 1:00. Even stopped for lunch. (I wasn't hungry. Just got a coffee. Boy was, though) But, it's finally happening! We are getting ever closer to Columbus and our fun weekend together. When we get checked in, we're going to relax for a couple hours before meeting a friend for dinner at a brewery. I brought a movie with me so we can watch it while we relax. And it's appropriate for Halloween, too. Dracula, Dead and Loving It. More funny than scary but an awesome movie nonetheless.

It's a dreary day. Cold, cloudy, not many leaves on the trees anymore. Otherwise, it would be a much more scenic drive. Even the animals on the farms we pass don't want to come out today. I had to pull out my nice winter coat for the trip, too! Typical Ohio. I really hate it sometimes.

But, despite the weather and the very long drive, I'm happy. I'm with my guy. We're going to have a fun weekend of geeking out and being together. This is just the first of many trips we'll take together. Starting with a weekend 2 hours from home. Then, one day, traveling across the country.

More later!
